Safeguarding at St George's
We take the safety and care of children, young people and vulnerable adults in our community extremely seriously.

What is safeguarding?
At our church, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe and respected. Safeguarding is how we look out for each other – especially our children and young people and those who might need extra support. We're committed to creating a welcoming community where everyone can worship, learn, and participate without worry, and where we actively protect and care for one another.

Who is safeguarding for?
Safeguarding is for everyone – and that means you! Our core message is simple: if you see something, say something. Too often, silence allows issues to grow, but together we can stop that. Whether you're protecting someone else or speaking up about your own discomfort, your voice matters.
Our commitment to safeguarding
Our safeguarding officer, chaplain and churchwardens, and you: we're all in this together to ensure our church remains a safe space for everyone who walks through our doors. We promise to: listen carefully to any concerns, respond quickly and compassionately, provide support for those who need help, conduct thorough and fair investigations, and maintain strict confidentiality. Our commitment is to create a protective environment where everyone feels valued, heard, and secure.
